Tree Sparrow Nest Box
Tree Sparrow Nest Box
- Help the declining tree sparrow population by putting up one of these nesting boxes for birds designed especially for tree sparrows.
- Fixed roof to keep out the weather out.
- These bird nesting boxes are constructed from precision cut FSC certified wooden panels treated with water based environmentally friendly preservative.
- Multiple bird boxes can be placed in proximity or joined together to provide nest sites for a growing colony.
The UK tree sparrow population has undergone a severe decline of over 90% between 1970 and now. Our tree sparrow nest box has been designed to provide much needed nest sites for this endangered bird.
Ideally put up several of these bird boxes for these gregarious colonial nesting farmland birds. The boxes can be fitted together or individually on trees, hedges, fences or buildings.
The box is the ideal size and dimensions for tree sparrows with a 28mm entrance hole. It features a fixed roof which keeps out the weather and allows for fitting one box right on top of another. The box is easy to fit with a concealed keyhole at the back of the bird box (easy to reach with a screwdriver through the entrance hole). Each box has slide out floor with drainage holes to enable easy cleaning at the end of the nesting season.
The box is constructed from precision cut FSC certified external grade European birch plywood and has been treated with an environmentally friendly preservative which is kind to the birds but helps to ensure a long lasting dry comfortable nest box.

In partnership with The Nestbox Company
A family-run business, supporting UK wildlife since 1996.
nature first since 1996
We aim for our boxes to provide the best accommodation for wildlife and our primary concern with all our products is that they should be designed appropriately for their target species.
Our boxes replicate as far as possible the conditions which are found in natural nest and roost sites.
designed by experts
Before we design any box we consider the requirements of the proposed inhabitants through reviews of published studies and consultation with experts in their field.
Combined with our experience of designing and manufacturing boxes and customer feedback we produce what we hope are boxes which offer the best accommodation for wildlife.
During the development of our products we are grateful to have received input of various kinds from many sources including, amongst others, the RSPB, the Barn Owl Trust, the University of Warwick, ZSL London Zoo, Staffordshire University, the Bat Conservation Trust, Aston University, the People's Trust for Endangered Species, Coventry University and the British Hedgehog Preservation Society.
made in britain
We started making nest boxes in 1996 based in a shed in Herefordshire. Since then, we’ve grown in size to become one of the largest producers of roost, nest, and wildlife boxes in the UK.
The Nestbox Company is run by father and sons; Peter, Tristan and Damian.
We manufacture our products in our own rural workshops, and combine modern production technology, with traditional hand finishing.
